Experiência neoconcreta (The Neoconcrete Experiment)
Cosac Naify, São Paulo, Brazil, 2007
Description
In 1959, Ferreira Gullar wrote the Neoconcrete Manifesto with the support of artists like Amilcar de Castro, Lygia Pape, Franz Weissmann, Lygia Clark, Theon Spanudis and Reynaldo Jardim. Almost 50 years later, the Brazilian poet and art critic gives his first testimony on one of the most radical movements in Brazilian art. The author narrates the formative steps of the “Carioca group” and writes about his own path as a Neoconcrete poet. The book includes an appendix with 10 texts written by Gullar, three book-poems and the facsimile of the catalog from the first Neoconcrete exhibition. The book’s design references the graphic style of the time and the author’s own poems.
