Refuse—Good Everyday Design from Reused and Recycled Material (Invitation)

Tom Graboski, Miami Beach, Florida, 1996

Description

The Refuse exhibition is a promotion for recycling. It is a traveling exhibition showcasing products of all kinds that are made from reused and recycled materials, some from post-consumer waste. Obviously, we wanted the catalogue and invitation paper to be made from 100% post-consumer material, so we chose Simpson Quest. We also wanted very little paper waste after printing, so the paper sheet size determined the size of the catalogue and the invitation. The collage on the catalogue cover was meant to show different products from the exhibition as well as gradual enmeshment—how one product can be recycled to make another.
