New York Film Festival/Grand Marnier trailer
mass™, New York, New York, 2001
Description
We took the sentence “The Film Society of Lincoln Center Presents the 39th New York Film Festival, Proudly Sponsored by Grand Marnier,” broke it into sections, animated the words and interspersed them with mini scenes in different illustration and animation styles. In the resulting mini movie, the main scene, New York, is illustrated as a crowd of abstract humanoids running up and down a surreal street, each one in their own style and movement. The flash-animated trailer, which also doubled as a commercial, naturally integrates the sponsor. Because we were the designer s as well as the filmmakers, the design was not compromised.
