ING Direct retail environment
Gensler, New York, New York, 2001
Description
ING Direct, an internet savings and loan bank, wanted the brand recognition, street presence and emotional reassurance that a “three-dimensional” bank creates. The result was ING Direct Café, an upbeat environment where current and potential customers can learn about financial products and access account information online.
The design solution translates the graphic language of the ING Direct website into an environment that integrates architecture, graphic design, retail design and digital media. The bright orange color palette directly reflects the bank’s corporate colors and the large translucent panels add graphic character and convey brand messages.
Juror Notes
“It pays attention to three dimensions at every level. The right balance of environmental and graphic design.”
