Fall 2007 Architecture Lecture Series
Aufuldish & Warinner, San Anselmo, California, 2007
Description
The working theme of the fall 2007 lecture series was “resourcefulness.” The series featured architects who make work out of unconventional materials ranging from cardboard to shipping containers and beyond. In the context of architecture, resourcefulness means both thinking nimbly and being conscious of architecture’s impact on the planet. I tried to transpose this idea into a design vocabulary by making the type out of artificial flowers. Thankfully, it didn’t concern anyone that flowers might work better for a spring lecture series—the big leaf took care of that.
