The Interrogative Mood
HarperCollins, New York, New York, 2009
Description
The Interrogative Mood is a fascinating little book that defies categorization. There is no linear narrative, just a series of questions that push and pull at you. The narrator is essentially “wrestling” with questions (or asking the reader to), and it’s this idea that led to the jacket concept. We left the title off the front to give the image more weight—an unconventional jacket for an unconventional book.
Juror Notes
It doesn’t get better than this. The cover concept is carried over perfectly onto spine and back cover. The designer used found imagery to great effect.
