The Secret Life of Emily Dickinson
Gabriele Wilson Design, New York, New York, 2009
Description
The challenge was to depict the promiscuous side of one of America’s most famous poets, Emily Dickinson, without the usual crop of a bare leg or bust. And because there is only one authentic photo of her in existence, I decided that showcasing her underthings, with the help of the fabulous illustrator Silja Goetz, would be both sassy and appropriate.
Juror Notes
Perfect use of a silhouette to show/reveal a duality.
