Writers Craft Anthology 2010
Hambly & Woolley Inc., Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, 2010
Description
Project brief: It’s a simple story, actually. A high school teacher felt her 11th-grade writing class had exceptional talent and that their work was worthy of publishing. We offered to design the book for free and pay for the printing to help support the class. And, of course, we had total creative freedom.
Approach: We designed a book that everyone involved would be proud of!
Effectiveness: Because it was free! And the students now have published work—and for some, that may be a big thing.
Juror Notes
All about using design to mobilize and inspire young people. Having high schoolers’ work published in such a nice piece entices them to keep doing it.
