Yale School of Architecture Lectures, Symposium and Exhibitions Fall 2010

Pentagram Design, New York , New Haven, Connecticut, 2010

Description

Project brief: Promotional poster for the Yale School of Architecture’s series of fall events.

Approach: Posters for the Yale School of Architecture follow the simple design parameters of the institution’s graphic identity: black, white and type. The fall 2010 poster uses 58 different kinds of arrows to point the way to programming, which includes lectures by architects Tod Williams and Billie Tsien, a symposium on the lighting designer Richard Kelly and exhibitions on Kelly and architect James Stirling.

Effectiveness: The series was a success.

Juror Notes

The metaphor of the arrow to symbolize forward progress highlights a concise composition.
