Soul Coughing Interactive Press Kit
Aufuldish & Warinner, San Antonio, California, 1995
Description
The design challenges for this project were to fit all the material requested by the client into one 1.4M floppy disk, and to project the band’s wacky, over-the-top personality with multiple layers of animation and loud typography. The graphics were kept purposefully simple and bold. All type was bitmapped instead of dithered, and photographic imagery was used at low resolution. Disparate kinds of information were handled by storing large text blocks off to the side of each major screen (where they can be dragged into view if desired) and by using a pop-up interface on each screen. When the cursor is moved around, other imagery and small hidden typographic animations appear.
