Remembrance of Amherst, An Undergraduate’s Diary, 1846–1848
Eugenia Porter, New York, New York, 1946
Description
Juror Notes
The jury wishes that Columbia had selected another typeface in which to print this book. The variation in color between caps and lower case of Scotch Roan causes a little uneasiness in reading. By opening up between the lines, however, the designer has greatly relieved this spottiness. The Diary over-all is skillfully arranged. The grouping of Notes in the back and the successful handling of a difficult title page were particular points in the book’s favor.
