FUSE98 Program
MetaDesign, San Francisco, California, 1998
Description
With a slew of cutting-edge participants whose work reached “Beyond Typography,” the FUSE98 conference presented a design challenge: a challenge of restraint. Any materials created for FUSE called for a pure, almost laboratory environment in which radical ideas about communication could be expressed without trivializing their significance. At the same time, we sought to bring a human quality to the often heavy conference agenda. Strips of locally shot images, as well as a satiric traveler’s guide, capture the naturally cinematic quality of the host city, San Francisco.
