The Boat
Alfred A. Knopf, New York, New York, 2007
Description
The jacket image simply needed to be enigmatic, stirring and suggestive of underlying violence. As an image, it needed to be universal. The stories in Nam Le’s collection take on a global viewpoint.
Juror Notes
We were impressed by the texture of the water, as well as by the intense blackness of the background. The uncoated stock was a nice choice. Most effective.
