Sunset and Sawdust

Alfred A. Knopf Publishers, New York, New York, 2003

Description

In the opening paragraph of this book, a woman who is killing her husband while defending herself from his advances, is denuded by a tornado that destroys her house and pelts her with frogs. She wanders naked into a nearby mill town, and soon after is appointed sheriff. She later teams up with a young hobo in order to solve a horrible crime. Pulp, anyone?

Juror Notes

“Wonderfully unconventional use of space and composition to add a sense of increased narrative to the eclectic and integrated use of typography and collage.” Archie Ferguson
