Grand Central Construction Walls

Grand Central Construction Walls

Frankfurt Balkind, New York, New York, 1996

Description

When the Metropolitan Transportation Authority began their two-year revitalization project of Grand Central Terminal, the objective was to reposition this historic site from “train station” to “New York landmark.” As the first visible signs of the project, these construction walls used humor and attitude to lessen commuter confusion and disorientation, while building excitement for the finished product.
