USC Curriculum Planner

USC Curriculum Planner

Pentagram, San Francisco, California, 2001

Description

As part of the University of Southern California’s unique philosophy—to “create Renaissance students for the 21st century”—students are invited to design their own customized curriculum by combining elements from the multitude of programs and activities on offer.

The challenge was to transform a large and complicated system into a format that was approachable, easily understood and engaging. Using a central interactive illustration depicting the various programs as a simple conceptual diagram, the student can research, design and print their desired curriculum.

Juror Notes

“Every screen is perfect.”

“The right concept for the audience: it looks good, functions well, and adds something you couldn’t have through other technology.”
