GOOD No. 001

Open, New York, New York, 2006

Description

GOOD is a magazine about getting things done and changing the world, or in the words of Ben Franklin (and Ben Goldhirsh, the founder of GOOD), “doing well by doing good.” This first issue includes pieces by Karrie Jacobs, Neil Pollack and Joel Stein; stories about the Border Film Project, Paris Hilton and Wikipedia; the Good Guide to the Midterm Elections (featuring “Political NASCAR”); and Good Project No.1. GOOD definitely has a point of view about the world, but absolutely does not preach to the converted. Their (and our) intention is to make a magazine that will appeal to a very wide audience, and all our decisions support that. At the same time, GOOD is printed on paper that contains 30% post-consumer waste and was manufactured using biogas energy. And 100% of the subscription cost of GOOD goes to the charity of your choice.

Juror Notes

“This is really GOOD.”
“Fresh. New. Alive. Energetic. Pioneering. Yay!”
“The straightforward and smart design has just the right amount of tasty design moments to make it both fresh and elegant.”
