Early Bird

Early Bird

Office of Paul Sahre, New York, New York, 2005

Description

Twenty-year-old author retires early, moves to a Florida retirement community and starts playing shuffleboard. Wrongheaded and funny, the cover for this book is an illustration that is a play on the title, with a little ostrich thrown in.

Juror Notes

Unusual approach for a memoir, much less one about retirement. The depiction of the “Early Bird” is just strange enough to cause pause. Not as obvious as it appears.
