The folio Natural History contains 220 black and white reduced reproductions of all the large hand-colored engravings of Mark Catesby, an artist-scientist who came to southern America in 1722 and recorded its wildlife. A facsimile of Catesby’s account of the wilderness and an historical introduction are included.
Special feature: Two loose facsimile color plates, 14 x 20 inches, are included with each volume.
