The New York Times Magazine, 2007

Description

Our annual “Year in Ideas” issue celebrates the year’s most interesting and innovative ideas, chosen by our editors. This year, the design plays off the idea of a think board or inspiration wall. All of the commissioned art and photography was photographed at a small scale on magnetic strips, making a visual time line of the issue. The content is organized alphabetically, so we hired designers Carin Goldberg, Luke Hayman and Paul Sahre to make posters of the letters of the alphabet inspired by great thinkers, which are used to mark the sections.

Juror Notes

Cryptic, mysterious but prosaic intelligent - understated and carried through all the way to the end – punctuated by curious visual idiosyncrasies.
