Texas Instruments Sundial
Donovan and Green, New York, New York, 1997
Description
Addressed to its technologically sophisticated clients, and as a symbolic entry to Forest Lane, one of the largest, most precise solar clocks in the world was conceived and designed by Donovan and Green. The sundial, with a solar projection of a world map at its center, combines ancient and modern technology and serves as a reminder of Texas Instruments’ global presence and commitment to reduce time to market. The twelve surrounding plinths represent Texas Instruments’ key technological developments, while the shadow-casting gnomon points to the celestial pole.
