Maxygen 2000 annual report
Cahan & Associates, San Francisco, California, 2001
Description
Maxygen, a biotechnology company, wanted their annual report to focus on their products this year. My first thought was to create a book with the look and feel of a 19th-century scientific journal. Visually, the theme of the book rested on the idea of nature as a metaphor. The size and scope of the book emphasized the credibility of Maxygen as the leader in their industry.
Juror Notes
“Beautifully done—almost an artifact. The illustrations are wonderful. Shows some fresh thinking in the annual report business.”
