Invisible Monsters
Rodrigo Corral Design, New York, New York, 2003
Description
Invisible Monsters is about what happens to people when they lose everything. An optical illusion was used (look at the jacket upside down to see it) to show the main character’s transformation from a beauty queen to a sad woman. The image also ties into the title because part of it is not immediately visible. As with the other Palahniuk jackets I designed, the goal was to strip down the writing to an image that shows the message of the novel.
Juror Notes
“Perhaps a one-liner, yet its beautifully revolting qualities make me want to find out more.” Cheryl Towler Weese
