"The Right to Express Yourself"

Amy Friedman, 1997

Description

Nickelodeon created and produced "The Right to Express Yourself" as a pro bono project for UNICEF’s Rights of the Child global initiative. The graphic open was created specifically for Nickelodeon’s audience of American and international six- to eleven-year-olds. The creative goal was to introduce the animated vignette and communicate its message to as culturally diverse an audience as possible. The use of the world’s alphabet, accents, and enhancement of hand-signing were brought together to create a unique and extremely effective piece of graphic communication.
