The premiere issue of the Graphic proudly declared that members of Push Pin Studios were “Designers and Illustrators to the Advertising Industry.” With that said, the cover of this issue, a woodcut by Seymour Chwast, used a bold technique that challenged the style of contemporary commercial art.
