Pictures and type fit very well together, with an uninterrupted flow from page to page despite the variety of page arrangements in one, two, and even three columns, and pictures of all sizes in a number of drawing techniques. Brilliance and gaiety bubble from the excellent color reproductions and the decorated types, some of them Victorian, which are used for titles. The quality of the drawings seems to have put spirit into the whole book.
