Edward Ruscha: Editions 1959–1999
Walker Art Center Design Department, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 1999
Description
As a catalogue raisonné that documents the complete body of graphic editions by this Los Angeles–based artist, the challenge was to organize the extensive amount of information associated with Ruscha’s vast array of works.
The book was split into two parts: volume 1 contains the images that document all of the editioned works; volume 2 contains the words that comprise the essays. Volume 1 was structured on a consistent horizon line that organizes the works in chronological order and shown in proportional scale to each other.
