Chris Isaak “Baja Sessions” Poster

Chris Isaak “Baja Sessions” Poster

Warner Bros. Records, Burbank, California, 1996

Description

The album for which this poster was designed had an easy-going, Baja-surf vibe to it. The poster was designed to promote the album at the retail level and would be displayed with blowups of the CD cover (which was a beautuful, quiet image of Chris Isaak sitting in an old theater in Baja). I wanted to add the surf theme, so I chose this classic surf pose we took of him before he jumped in the water at Zippers (a popular surf spot outside Cabo San Lucas). The whole thing was looking a bit too pretty for me, so I tossed in a “bolt” of animated, comic tye because Chris himself isn’t just a “pretty” guy—he is extremely animated and funny.
