Leigh Ledare: Pretend You’re Actually Alive
Triboro Design, Brooklyn, New York, 2008
Description
The book chronicles the relationship between the artist Leigh Ledare and his mother. The story is told through a mix of photographs, handwritten texts, transcribed interviews, video stills, napkin notations, classified-ad clippings and a will.
Juror Notes
The dedication page sets the reader up for a weird and creepy ride. The pacing of the photos and the mash-up of their chronology are terrific.
