Sculpture Today is a richly illustrated and authoritative overview of contemporary sculpture, presenting a variety of artwork accompanied by a substantial text. The book discusses work by more than 300 sculptors from over 50 years. The design challenge was to create a book that celebrated the individuality of each artist’s work while maintaining its own voice and personality.
A bespoke paper alphabet was devised by cutting and folding up a flat sheet of paper, thereby making typography three-dimensional. First drawn by hand and then “sculpted” into a mini paper sculpture, each letter was allowed to change shape, playfully varying in width and height, giving each composition a handmade, non-uniform quality.

We loved the three-dimensionality of the hand-sculptured paper title. Perfect!
