For seven years, Soapbox has helped PEN Canada create annual reports that arrest attention and lend expression to the importance of their mandate. This year, the concept was to create a tangible call to action in the form of illustrated postcards, addressed to oppressors and repressors in Myanmar, Eritrea, Turkey, China and other parts of the world. The use of illustration has been a common thread through every PEN report. Soapbox believes in the power of illustration to add meaning and impact to the written word.
