“Elvis 56”
Design/Art Inc., Los Angeles, California, 1996
Description
“Elvis 56” is a special-edition fortieth-anniversary commemorative release of Elvis’s first hits from 1956. Intended for fans and collectors, the package includes a set of previously unpublished photographs with detailed chronology, recording data, and photo descriptions. Because the photos have a timeless quality, we felt we could move away from ’50s nostalgia and give this piece a more classic, contemporary look, something that would appeal to a new generation of fans.
