Los Angeles Free Music Society “The Lowest Form of Music”
Warner Bros. Records, Burbank, California, 1996
Description
The Los Angeles Free Music Society, a group I belonged to and helped form, was a group of artists and musicians gathered together for the sole purpose of artistic experimentation. I wanted this piece to be as obsessively complete as possible, and something of a mystery. The piece took a year and a half to design and three years to complete. The variety of materials, aesthetics, and visuals reflect the various approaches to music and sound that we took. A lot of time was spent investigating this group. It’s like a treasure chest.
