The Great King, King of Assyria: Assyrian Reliefs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art
Frans Hess, New York, New York, 1946
Description
Juror Notes
Certainly this is one of the most striking and unusual entries of the year. After on is surprised and pleased that the grave Metropolitan Museum sponsored so modern a picture book, one notices that the photography is by an eminent artist and the design is by a master typographer. The white on black printing is particularly suitable to the subject.
