Historical Ontology cover
Harvard University Press, Cambridge, Massachusetts, 2002
Description
As a staff designer at Harvard University Press, I had to make a rather complex philosophy book look intriguing. The intended audience is composed of scholars, students and highly motivated lay people. The images on the jacket were inspired by the description of one of Descartes’ dreams inside Historical Ontology. I found photographs that corresponded to the dream and positioned them, along with the type, in such a way as to indicate the quiet yet broad intersection of thought and emotion.
