Book Clubhouse
HartungKemp, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 2006
Description
The Target Children’s Book Club reading program ran a giveaway promotion to get kids excited about reading. We created the grand prize—a life-size 3D clubhouse—using J. Otto Seibold’s illustrations. By integrating windows, shutters, a moveable clock, wind-o-meter and a peek hole in the door to check for bullies during meetings, the clubhouse generated lots of excitement and a high number of entries.
Juror Notes
“Illustration style is both entertaining and sophisticated. It doesn’t dumb down because it’s for kids; it addresses both kids and adults at the same time—hard to do. They made reading special.”
