The 1980s: A Virtual Discussion
Franc Nunoo-Quarcoo, Baltimore, Maryland, 2007
Description
The 1980s: A Virtual Discussion represents, in book form, the proceedings of an online conference held on the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum Research Center website in fall 2005. The text explores the social and cultural implications of the 1980s –a time when the intentions of a neoconservative president clashed openly with those of progressive artists, writers, producers and directors. Panelists examine the connection between the art and politics of the period, rethinking an extraordinary era in American culture.
