Animal Logic: Richard Barnes
Tenazas Design, Montclair, New Jersey, 2009
Description
Animal Logic is a book on the photographic work of Richard Barnes. It is the culmination of eight years of investigation into the ways in which we represent the natural world and our (read human) place within it. The book showcases our desire to collect and catalogue, preserve and display the dual nature of interpretation and shifting point of view as expressed through our relationship to the animal world.
Juror Notes
Animal Logic has the deceptive look of a book that “designed itself.” The subtle restraint in execution and expert scale and pacing of the beautifully reproduced images affords unmediated access to the work. The lack of page numbers was striking.
