Turner Duckworth, San Francisco, California, 2008
Description
Challenged with creating an engaging packaging piece for Metallica’s ninth studio album, Death Magnetic, we developed an iconic, three-dimensional CD package using a powerful grave image and an innovative, layered die-cut.
Juror Notes
The dynamic coffin cutout on this piece draws you in—instant intrigue. Death Magnetic it is.
Die-cutting sucks you in.
